We headed down to San Diego for a fun-filled weekend. Our main purpose was to take Ethan to Sea World because I heard they had a new Sesame Street fun land there....which meant Elmo would be there! We had such a fun weekend together with lots of long beautiful walks and wonderful food. The weekend started out great with a traffic-free three hour drive. Ethan was so excited about seeing Shamu that he couldn't bring himself to nap...he thought for sure he would miss something. Towards the end of the drive we were giving him books to keep him occupied. We had 10 minutes until we got to our hotel and we looked back and this is what we saw...
with him. There is nothing better than cuddling
with a sleeping baby!
An awesome start to our day...The second we walked into Sea World, Shamu was coming out to start his day. Ethan got first dibs! Waiting to watch the Shamu show. Just a hilarious photo of Ethan at the Shamu show. Classic Shamu photo I want a whale as a pet. They are so pretty! Our closeup with a dolphin Funniest thing: this dolphin "stood" like this in the water for a good five full minutes. There wasn't a trainer telling him to do it either. It was so bizarre! Daddy & Ethan waiting for the Sesame Street 3D movie to start. Silly sea lions. They reminded us of Buddy & Emery. Seems like every cute animal we have seen lately reminds us of our doggies from the past. A scary shark! Zoe & Elmo with our happy man. All of our trips to Disneyland paid off...while we were standing in line to give Zoe and Elmo hugs, Ethan kept saying, "Wait turn." On one of the rides in Sesame Street land. A beluga whale - probably Ethan's favorite part of the day. We are only guessing that it was Ethan's favorite part because he was SO serious all day until we got to the beluga whales. Once he saw them he was laughing at them and making all sorts of noises. I thought for sure the otters and Elmo would have been his favorite part of the day. The hundreds of penguins or as Ethan would say, "paynas." Once Sea World closed we went back to downtown San Diego and had dinner. After dinner we walked to the harbor and took a long walk along the boardwalk. Ethan was being so funny. Every time he saw a boat (and there were many) he would point to them, put a silly face on, and nod his head. He thought all of the boats belonged to Papa. Here he is in action. On our way home on Sunday we stopped at Mission Beach and found a carousel. Our new goal is for Ethan to ride every carousel in America. I'd say he has a pretty good start! Ethan started the trip with a good nap & ended the trip with a good night sleep. He was exhausted after that trip!
